Venue and Lodging 

  • The 2-day event will take place at the Intercontinental Conference Center.
  • Traveling employees will stay at Montreal’s Intercontinental Hotel. Please make sure to book your room using this link.
  • LIDD’s offices are right across from the hotel and conference center, on 360 rue Saint-Jacques Ouest.
  • Entrance to the Conference Center is at 363 rue Saint-Jacques Ouest.

 

Flights/Train tickets – when to book 

Fights and train tickets should be booked in August. A detailed email was sent to traveling employees. If you have not received this email, please contact Yanelly ([email protected]).

 

Spouses/Family 

Spouses and family members are not invited to attend the event. Should you wish to have your spouse or family members share a hotel room with you, please contact Yanelly Suarez ([email protected]) for additional cost information.

 

Working from the office 

Based on the event’s schedule and your department team time, you might have time to work on your projects. If you plan to work from the office, please make sure to reserve your desk with Sanaa ([email protected]).

 

How to log your time in Nexonia 

On Thursday and Friday, please log your time against LIDD Consultants inc. / LIDD Internal / Company Event

For those traveling, please log your travel time against LIDD Consultants inc. / LIDD Internal / Travel.

For those of you arriving prior to the event and working from the Montreal office, please log your time against your projects, as per usual.

 

Expenses outside the Rendezvous

We are organizing wonderful parties for both Thursday and Friday evenings. If you decide to socialize with colleagues at any other time outside the Rendezvous events, this will be at your own expense.

Crossing the Canadian border 

If this applies to you, you will receive an email with instructions and your immigrations documents.

 

Taxis to/from airport 

Once you have landed at Montreal (YUL) airport, you can take a taxi or an Uber downtown to the Intercontinental. Make sure to keep your receipt.

Upon your departure, take a taxi or Uber to the airport. Please make sure to keep your receipt.

 

Getting to/from train station 

Montreal’s Via Rail Central Station is a 10-minute walk to the hotel/LIDD offices.

 

October weather in Montreal 

Average low: 6 C (42 F). Average high: 13 C (55 F).

You should plan to have warm clothes and a raincoat.

 

How to log your travel expense report 

You will need to submit your expense report no later than October 31, in Nexonia (please review this How-to for detailed instructions on how to submit an expense report)

Please refer to the Employee Handbook as to what you can expense during your travels.

Note that meals will be covered on Thursday and Friday.

When creating your expense report, please replicate the following:

Discovering Montreal 

A full schedule is planned for both event days. If your arrival or departure time permits and you have a little bit of free time, please visit Tourism Montreal‘s website for ideas on what to see. Montreal is known for a few amazing things: Autumn tree colors, Fairmount and St-Viateur bagels, Schwartz‘s Smoked Meat, Poutine, Montreal Habs hockey games, shopping on Ste-Catherine street, and Mont-Royal Mountain.
